Actually I had almost lost my memory some years ago because of an unforseen car accident injurying my head & as well as due to some other reasons. However, I regained it by effective meditation just before I moved to Singapore. It had been actually a long story for me personally. Today I am trying to recall those sweet & beautiful olden memories when I was a little boy & young age in Tenghilan Tuaran & KK! The 'well' is no more there already & the building used to be for Tuaran transport parking bay is still standing there but seemed it had been used for business purpose. Just behind nearby the community hall is a tandas for Tenghilan Kedai Towkays! Then we have post office & Tamu site nearby.

You have excellent memory. I think the deep well is not there anymore. I'm not sure about the Tuaran Transport building. The Tenghilan tandas is long gone and a community hall has been built in it's place. There is also a mini post office around that area. I dont know if there has been any other new buildings built there.
  • Tenghilan Post Office, david (guest) wrote 15 years ago:
This government post office perhaps is one of the few areas that Tenghilan can be promoted/improved for jobs opportunities in today I.T. globalisation world. If it is privatised, then this is going to be the best contact-point of Tenghilan within Tuaran district. Engineering cum Environmental Control (with beautiful natural parks) such as rivers polution, clear water works, constant voltage of electricity supply, mini-shopping mall, medical fields, roada & public transportation, farmings etc... How is the Education like today? Mini-hotel or hostel? Anything come up with in Ambong Bay or nearby Beautiful Bay or Seaside Viewing where we can attract tourism for Tenghilan or it had been control by Tuaran Town already? Have we ever explored the potential of natural resource yet? Well, post office is the basic tools/services to world-contact as NOT everyone in Tenghilan can afford to own computer yet!!!

This place or spot area is orginally has same level as existing old Tenghilan shop which is roughly about 2 meters above built-up level with original lowland around its surrounding. Then it was taken over by Tuaran transportation. The building is still standing upright today. There was a deep "well" right behind this place & further up the hillside there was the Tenghilan Tandas! Right in front of it there was a very tall Ber-Du-Du tree. It is pity that we do not have a out viewing photo to prove my correctness!
  • Tenghilan River, david (guest) wrote 15 years ago:
Does this sharp bent of Tenghilan river indicate something to Tenghilan or Tenghilan people of its natural geographical phenomena? Or does its surrounding mountain ranges tell us something as well? Can we or can't we trace & establish a history for Tenghilan? I feel each of us should put an effort & try at least. Thanks!

I hereby decide to insert some personal & useful data for straightening the overall history of Tenghilan growth & development. 1) The 21st century story:- Plse dive into the website of... http://cid-6eb0a573b75a030f.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!6EB0A573B75A030F!983.entry 2) Sino-Kadazan-Dusun Culture:- January 12 Sino-Kadazan-Dusun Culture SINO-KADAZAN-DUSUN CULTURE (David also added a blog entry 21st Century for easily reference) Basically Sino-Kadazan, Sino-Dusun or Sino-Kadazan/Dusun is the crystal & off-spring of inter-marriage between a Chinese & a local native Kadazan/dusun in Sabah of Eastern Malaysia. What is their culture like is YET to be reinvented creatively or discovered soonest! Can it be 100% Chinese or 100% Kadazan or half-half or in between 0% & 100% or co-existence in parallel or totally nothing at all? Only those Sino-Kadazan/Dusun they themselves are fit to have their own choice volunteerily & comfortably afterall this is of their own interests! Today we are in a tiny global world & what is it actually telling us? Some of my nephews & nieces are Sino-Kadazan/Dusun & I hereby sincerely wish & hope them all the best blessing in their free choice because CULTURES are part & parcel of our humankind civilisations on earth! 3 CHEERS~~~ TO ALL HUMANKIND OF BROTHERHOOD!

  • Tenghilan Market, david (guest) wrote 15 years ago:
Is this a market or something else? I last visited it... I saw some people either resting or sleeping around. Not sure what is happening?

Since very small I was practically livng away from Tenghilan for the sake of education & career. Today, though I am PR of Singapore I am still die-hard of Sabahan!
  • Tamu or Bazaar Site, david (guest) wrote 16 years ago:
How to promote Tenghilan so that Tenghilan can have jobs improvement opportunity? Never mind if slow but sure with 30,000 population!
  • Tenghilan Post Office, david (guest) wrote 16 years ago:
I did not went to check the kinda of services they have. I hope they telphone fax internet services as well as billing payments counters etc! We can do lots of things with internets. Part of jobs creation in Tenghilan?
  • SMK Tenghilan, david (guest) wrote 16 years ago:
I wonder if Tenghilan teachers or educational department can sit down with clearer mind-heart & work something such like school projects or assignments for Tenghilan geographical, historical, cultural, traditional Tamu attraction for tourism, people, ways of making living, available facilites, & of course many many more bits & pieces issues/cases because I feel they are right on the right spot & right on the jobs too. Youngers should be practically exposed. They can make a great impact in this IT 21st century age! I don't seem to know much about these kind of activities on these areas at all? May be I miss something!?
  • SMK Tenghilan, david (guest) wrote 16 years ago:
Okay never mind! Past is passed & cannot be changed, right? So the first thing come to my mind right NOW is to press the present MP or assemblyman covering Tenghilan to view, find out & survey & sit down with those resposible local folks in order to understand more about the urgent requirement of Tenghilan all in all. That will be a good blessing start "ON YOUR MARK". Later can be " Get Set", then off to "GO"! Hahaha, sorry if I do like a teacher here? Well I am not at all though my wife was once a KK commercial college once upon a time! Nice to talk to you bty!
  • SMK Tenghilan, mangkaotman (guest) wrote 16 years ago:
I have a feeling the present MP does not know the full potentials of IT. He may know how to use the internet in doing his job but I dont think he really know how to make it work for the people of Tenghilan. Or maybe he simply does not care. You are right about the younger generation in Tenghilan...they are begining to grasp IT and they are more knowledgeable than the young people during my time.
  • SMK Tenghilan, david (guest) wrote 16 years ago:
Well, notice the youngsters nowadays are beginning to use computers for internet I.T. these 2 or 3 years. However I feel they should use proper application for knowlege learning & upgrading in many ways. Though slow, is encouraging! Today is global world & I hope Tenghilan people can jump-start in this particular area! Singapore though is a dot with nothing but manpower, yet make hell of big impact in ASEAN/Asia as well as the world platform. At the moment, I am most worrying about the Tenghilan old historic Kedai as well as the welfare/security of the Tenghilan community at large? Is the present MP or Assemblyman covering Tenghilan knowlegeable enough about internet? Anyone find out about how many % of 30,000 are suspected of illegal immigrants? Thank you for updating the Tenghilan population.

Sino-Kadazan Township? Can we call this Tenghilan Tiny Township as Sino-Kadazan-Dusun Township in the land below the wind of Sabah State in Malaysia? With my personal experience travelling in Sabah, I think & I believe Tenghilan is indeed a reality of Sino-Kadazan-Dusun Tiny Township with its simple freshness of history & culture & activities right at the centre of this tiny old & new township. If you don't mind & make a visit particularly on every weekly Wednesday evening & or Thursday Tamu Day you would find out more yourself. It takes only 15 minutes from Tuaran Town or 40 minutes from Kota Kinabalu. Very soon, this tiny township is going to be perhaps the 1st ever 100% Sino-Kadazan Township in Sabah. Would you believe me? I guess only time will answer for us!
